From Superdrug’s recent 3 for 2 offer on all of the beauty products that they stock, I decided to indulge in some new nail polish. This particular nail varnish from Barry M’s ‘foil effect’ collection retails at Superdrug for £3.99; I regard this as a reasonable price and good value for money compared to more expensive ranges from O.P.I and Sally Hansen.
The main reason I opted for a gold varnish was because it matched all of the dresses I planned to wear for my recent birthday weekend. The shiny finish made my nails appear professionally manicured.
Despite the pretty finish, I was disheartened by how long my nail varnish lasted without chipping. After the long weekend my nails were a mess. I was using Rimmel’s Nail Nurse top coat so I was quite surprised to find that that wasn’t enough to keep my nails tidy.
I would still recommend experimenting with the ‘foil effect’ range for the glamorous colours and the fact that one application is enough – the nail varnish is also quick drying, giving you less time to smudge and ruin your nails.
Thanks for reading!
